My Reflection

After completing the media bridging units I feel like I have more of an idea on what to expect in the upcoming year of taking Media AS.

Before starting the bridging units I had no intentions of starting a blog, but now after becoming more familiar with what a blog is like, it has changed my views on blogs and now I may consider with starting a personal blog. Also this has helped me in developing my independent working by letting me write my own views, reviews about certain things.

Out of all the tasks I enjoyed analysing the TV drama the most. I never normally watch any television but after watching a few shows I've come to learn that I'm missing out of a few great shows and how they have adapted to becoming better over the last few years. I am very impressed with the recent story lines of modern day television.

I did have trouble uploading pictures to my blog, which brings doubt upon Blogger, so in future Blogs I may be using different websites.

However, I am fairly confident about starting the AS media course as I was able to carry out most of the tasks without having any trouble . I have very little concerns about the future tasks ahead.

Media Gurdian

The guardian recently posted an article about 'Can Apple, Amazon and Google's new mini-tablets revive the news industry?'

The arrival of these tablets which should be small enough to slip into a pocket while travelling, yet big enough to read easily, mean a revival for the dying art of reading a newspaper (in some form) on the train or tube?

The revival of the news industry will only happen if these tablets are priced at an affordable amount in which people will go out and buy the tablets and then hopefully download news apps which they can then read on the go.

The reason I found this article interesting is because I am a fan of technology and how it is advancing with every new release and how it can help with day to day problem or certain industries have a revival.

Episode 1: Winter is coming

A Night’s Watch deserter is tracked down outside of Winterfell, prompting swift justice by Lord Eddard “Ned” Stark and raising concerns about the dangers in the lawless lands north of the Wall. Returning home, Ned learns from his wife Catelyn that his mentor, Jon Arryn, has died in the Westeros capital of King’s Landing, and that King Robert is on his way north to offer Ned Arryn’s position as the King’s Hand. Meanwhile, across the Narrow Sea in Pentos, Viserys Targaryen hatches a plan to win back the throne, which entails forging an allegiance with the nomadic Dothraki warriors by giving its leader, Khal Drogo, his lovely sister Daenerys’ hand in marriage. Robert arrives at Winterfell with his wife, Queen Cersei, and other members of the Lannister family: her twin brother Jaime, dwarf brother Tyrion and Cersei’s son and heir to the throne, 12-year-old Joffrey.

Characters:

Eddard Stark is the head of House Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and Warden of the North. He is a friend to King Robert Baratheon, whom he was raised with and helped to win the Iron Throne, and is eventually named his Hand.

Viserys Targaryen, called The Beggar King, is the heir of his father Aerys II and brother Rhaegar after their deaths during Robert's Rebellion. The war, however, turned him into an exile who plots to regain control of the Iron Throne. He styles himself as Viserys Targaryen, the Third of His Name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm.

Khal Drogo is a powerful warlord of the fearsome Dothraki nomads. He marries Daenerys Targaryen and grows to love her, promising to invade Westeros for her sake.
